Well, yeah, but you want to make a good smell.

I cook my corned beef in a slow-cooker. I put it on before I go to bed and when I get up in the morning it smells heavenly and the dogs are absolutely slobbering over the smell...

Using a slow cooker (or Crock Pot) does emit the great smells of whatever is cooking, but, that is what makes cooking with one so great! If you are cooking something that you don't want to smell up your house, try puting the crock pot on a porch or patio while it is cooking! In the south, when people cook chitterlings (yeah, they are nasty!) they cook them outside because of the smell.... Good luck!

I've not had that problem . . . until you remove the lid. Then it's and aromatic free for all.

it takes a lot longer to cook
and cooking smells will be around
the house longer, but once its been cooked
and turned off the smell will subside
depending on what exactly you have cooked
some foods ie:fish,curries,
will smell for days however you are cooking it
and the worst culprit is deep fried food the smell of hot oil gets everywhere and into clothes like something rotten

Lol, I think I may have just passed by this question if your title wasn't so funny lol...

It really depends on what you are cooking. I usually like to make barbequed pulled pork in mine and it usually fills the kitchen with a smell (a smell that i love by the way, ah. starving).. but anyway yeah some things will smell more than others.

If you are using lots of spices I'm sure that you will be able to smell what you're cooking but it's never unbearable. It will go away pretty fast once you're done.

If you want the smell gone faster... just open a window, light a candle, air freshener... etc.

So what's for dinner? I'll be there at 6.
